LGV Capital was established in 1987 as the direct private equity investment arm of Legal & General. Since then, it has invested over £2bn in almost 100 businesses across the UK and Europe. In 2014, it was aggregated into Legal & General Capital (LGC) since when it has been running off its portfolio. The last remaining direct private equity investment held is Airswift Holdings, an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure sectors, headquartered in the UK.
LGV Capital also manages a significant shareholding in Mithras Investment Trust plc, a UK quoted investment trust with an interest in a small number of third party private equity funds, which is following a realisation policy.
